No certainly not. I feel Ohio State is a very good team, but you gotta look at what UCLA is doing. They might play in a weaker conference, but they make it up for their record. 25-3 is not too shabby. I think if it would come down to UCLA and Ohio State in the championship, UCLA would win hands down.

i think ohio state is a good team but when they face other good teams they just lose except for the one win against wisconsin, they were beat by 10 against the tar heels and liek 26 by florida. i d say the best team becasue of their depth is the north carolina tar heels they play at a faster pace than any other team

Ohio State is the #1 team in the land, but does that translate to top play in the tourney? No, it usually doesn't, but there is something about this team as the season went on. Oden may not have the amazing offensive numbers that would expect for a top recruit, but his presence is felt at all times on the court. I love the style of play that Thad Matta runs, the depth of this team will determine if they make a strong run in the tourney. So to answer your question, no but they are very very close.

This is an interesting question......Do i believe that Ohio State will win the NCAA Tourney ? Highly unlikely but they might be the best team on paper. The combination of Conley and Oden is deadly and almost impossible to stop let alone contain. The fact that their 3 losses have come against top 10 teams is hard to ignore. The only chance opposing teams have is getting Oden out of the game early via fould trouble. Go right at him and make him be the defensive weapon so many scouts brag about. Thad Matta has done an excellent job of keeping Oden's minutes down in order to make him as productive as possible when on the court. Taking his best defensive player off the court is the key to stopping OSU. Look for teams in the big ten tourney to go right at him this weekend. Seeing how the buckeyes respond to this strategy will give you an indication of whether they can go the distance in the big dance (I don't see it happening)

ohio state is not the best team incollege basketball. you might ask why i say this i will tell you. greg oden is a awesome player but he is not a great player. he lacks intelligents ability and heart.his mind is set on going pro after this season and it will effect them in the tourney. when they have to play against teams like virgina and memphis. i beleive they will make it to the elite 8 but they will lose to memphis. also look at their strentgh of scheldule it was kind of a high number. unc and flordia both had difficult sheldules and both defeated osu. people say oh oden wasn't on the court or didn't play much. well i use a old statement wisely theres no I in team.

Oden or not, Ohio State is NOT the best team in college basketball. First of all, the "mighty" Buckeyes play in the horrific Big Ten, whose tournament teams will be exposed in the next few days like Paris Hilton is after two appletinis. I watched in person as OSU squandered a 40-19 halftime lead against my lowly Penn State Nittany
Lions, only to hold on to win 64-62 (thanks to Mike Walker's 3-point miss at the buzzer). They drifted in and out of caring (and playing) the entire game. I blame Coach Matta for that lack of focus and killer instinct. Ohio State seems to trail in nearly every game they play, only to win in the end because of their superior talent during a down year for the Big Ten. Oden is indeed a monster, but the offense runs through the guards Cook, Lewis, and Conley Jr. Eventually they will meet up with another equally talented (and faster) team like a Texas A & M or Memphis (or even a UNC or Texas in the Final Four). If they decide to run the offense through Oden, and get him more shots, they may have a chance to get out of the South bracket. But I just don't see that happening, and it'll be another disappointing conclusion to a promising season for Buckeye nation.

Also, how can you say Ohio State is better when we have Florida as a number 1 seed with there whole core of players from last years title run? Ohio State is good, but not the best team all around. no unc is a better all around team they have more bench plalyers that can come on with fresh legs. you also have a team of sophmores including last years freshman of the year tyler Hansburough. ohio state is a good team but dont have the depth that the tar heels have. dont forget about florida and UCLA. greg oden will have to shaq up and stay out of foul trouble something he will have trouble with. the farthest ohio state will make it is the elite eight

Ohio State is NOT the #1 team in the nation, not in any way. Florida is the undisputed #1 right now. Florida is the defending champs, overall #1 seed in this tourney, and have EXPERIENCE, EXPERIENCE, AND MORE EXPERIENCE. Ohio State is a good team, don't get me wrong, but they are not the BEST team. Xavier gave Ohio State's next 4 opponents a blue print on how to shut down Oden and defeat the Buckeyes. If it wasn't for a dumb coach in Sean Miller who chose not to foul OSU with 10 secs left, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. With teams preparing for OSU and watching what Xavier did, there is going to be a better team executing the same strategy as Xavier with the capability of closing out the final minutes. Tennesee wins 83-78.
