After a couple weeks of pigskin it becomes easy to forget some less than high profile names. Sure everyone knows they should start T.O., Boldin and Moss but what about the second tier guys. Here are three wide outs you should pay attention to in week 3 and if you have them on your team, start 'em.
Chris Chambers
San Diego will host the
Jets in week 3. Chambers is the deep ball threat for Philip Rivers and the
Chargers. He also has a nose for the endzone, with three touchdowns in two games. Chambers made some crucial catches down the stretch against Denver which should improve Rivers' confidence in him as a "go to" receiver. The
Jets defense has given up an average of 192 yards in the air per game and two touchdowns this season.
Wes Welker
The
Patriots will host the
Dolphins in week 2. Welker and the
Patriots have had a limited time to adjust to life without Tom Brady. In week 2 Welker had 7 catches and 72 yards. Welker is a great route runner and gives QB Matt Cassel a solid option on slants and short yardage routes. The
Dolphins are terrible at defending the pass. They have allowed 272.5 yards per game through the air and 5 touchdowns this season.
Torry Holt
The
Rams will travel to Seattle this weekend. Holt had a breakout performance in week 2 with 6 catches and 76 yards including a 45 yard touchdown catch. The
Seahawks secondary has struggled giving up an average of 252 yards a game and 3 touchdowns this season. Marc Bulger and the
Rams seemed to finally find a rhythm in week 2. Although it was too late to comeback, look for them to be a more cohesive offense in week 3.
