Here's a list of players to bench during week 12. They aren't guys you should drop because of potential playoff implications but this week they won't give you the punch you expect.
Deuce McCallister
The
Saints play the
Packers on Monday night. Green Bay has allowed an average of 147.4 yards per game on the ground this season. However, McCallister will only see a handful of carries. Pierre Thomas has been stealing the share from McAllister in recent weeks and Reggie Bush could be back. McCallister projected 4-7 fantasy points.
Laveranues Coles
The
Jets have destroyed opponents with a fearsome running game behind Thomas Jones. This week they will have their toughest matchup of the year at Tennessee. The
Titans should key in on Coles, doubling him the majority of the day. If there is any hope for the
Jets, the offensive line will have to provide time for Favre to find the open man. Unfortunately for Coles, the
Titans have only allowed 5 passing touchdowns this season, second only to the
Colts. Coles projected 3-5 fantasy points.
Chris Johnson
The
Titans find a way to get it done week after week. Against the
Jets, 4th ranked run defense, Chris Johnson will face a stacked box. The
Jets will try to stop the run first and make Kerry Collins beat them through the air. Johnson projected 5-8 fantasy points.
Santonio Holmes
If you haven't noticed, the
Steelers offensive line is struggling. Roethlisberger is not a mobile QB and has been sacked 32 times this season. With less time in the pocket, the
Bengals can eliminate Holmes as a downfield threat. Cincinnati forced McNabb to throw three interceptions in the first half of week 11. The
Bengals will limit Holmes catches as they did to DeSean Jackson in week 11. Holmes projected 3-6 fantasy points.
