IF kobes playin, yes... They didnt have a clutch finisher at the end of games.. No one to take charge and take over when the games on the line...

They should win it but I think they still have not build a team. It is still an allstar team and that is not the way they should go.

y is it always about kobe...its not about kobe..we have plenty of scorers..if KG and duncan, or shaq play..then we will win..we need something to seperate us from the other countries..aka a dominant post man...

Its not always about kobe..alot of it is though because he is the best player in the world..and he is the team captain..everybody is looking at him because he has done historic things these last few years..the jordan comparisons are resrfaceing because of his scoring accomplishments..people are saying that he is the greatest scorer of all-time..Kobe didnt play in the championships last year or w.e and peopl thin that if he plays this year and does the things that he has been doing during the season the USA will crush anyteam.

but then again look at the 2004 olympic team that was all allstars they took bronze, but they had iverson as co-captain Ai wasnt even given a try out this time around.

But they need leadership like AI gave..He was not selfish at all at the olympics, he was a distrubutor of the ball and he played big!! Start him at point, put Kobe at shooting guard, and a fundamentally sound post player like timmy down low...we cant lose!!!

i know! i cant believe iverson wasnt chosen after what he did for that olympic team, but he might get a tryout for FIBA this year cuz of all the players who are injured or getting offseason surgery theyll need replacements

i agree about iverson, he hits a game winner to beat germany the olympics before it,is a top 10 player in the game today, but now they have guys like shane battier and kirk hinrich instead of him.

When the dream team played people were intimidated too. i heard a story about a guy crying because he was on the same floor as michael jordan, and another guy grabbed a pen and asked for an autograph right on the floor. not only were other countrys as good, but they were so intimidated there was no way they would win. now usa basketball has been a joke.
