Favre asks Packers for release
Brett Favre may be determined to play football in 2008, but it now seems unlikely he will do so in Green Bay. The legendary quarterback has officially asked the
Packers
to release him, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports. The request was first reported by ESPN.com. Favre's request comes just days after Green Bay officials downplayed the prospect of a return to the NFL. "What I remember about him is he was ready to retire, and that's how I feel today. I think down deep, that's exactly how he feels," team chairman Bob Harlan said, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The 38-year-old Favre retired March 6 after a 17-year career. The
Packers
plan to use Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback for the upcoming season

Jay Glazer ''The

legend asked the team for his unconditional release on Friday, but the organization has no intention of granting that request, FOXSports.com has learned. If anything, sources say, the team is prepared to welcome Favre back as a backup to Aaron Rodgers.''

Why would they just release him? Doesnt make sense They should retain the right to not let him join a division rival and hopefully get something in return if he does find someone who wants him.

If the Colts Lose (the chargers are driving as of now) is it because they got to many penalties? Or because the Chargers earned it? Either way both teams played great. And even better I picked the Chargers!
