Knicks turn attention to Bosh and Johnson
For the longest time, the New York Knicks have been clearing salary space to make room for the summer of 2010 in the hopes of bringing in LeBron James(notes) and Dwyane Wade(notes) to save the franchise. The problem is that there isn't much to the team right now and Wade and James have perfectly good support systems where they are right now. Plus, you don't have to live in New York City anymore to be a media powerhouse.
So the Knicks are apparently adjusting their expectations for next summer. There is no doubt the team will make an initial run at James and Wade but the word is that the Knicks are feeling like it is much more likely they'll end up with Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh(notes) and Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson(notes), who are also both free agents next summer, according to the New York Daily News. |

AI still closest to the Heat
According to a close source to Allen Iverson, the Heat have "continued interest" in signing the All-Star guard.
The Heat aren't likely to offer A.I. more than a minimal one-year contract, but he doesn't have many options at this point. To date, the Grizzlies, Clippers, Knicks and Greek team Olympiakos have all expressed interest in signing him. |

Sessions STILL not a knick yet
The Clippers have intensified their pursuit of restricted free agent Ramon Sessions and are exploring sign-and-trade possibilities with the Bucks.
A sign-and-trade could send Sebastian Telfair and a draft pick to Milwaukee, but the Clippers are reportedly prepared to sign Sessions to an offer sheet if necessary. The Knicks are still interested but want to trade a player before committing more money in a free agent. The Kings have also inquired about Sessions, but the level of their interest is unknown. |

Sessions also on NY's radar
According to Tommy Dee of SNY, the Knicks are still planning an offer for restricted free agent Ramon Sessions but are waiting for a decision on Bruce Bowen.
If Bowen, who was part of the Richard Jefferson deal, is released on Aug. 1, the Bucks would only have to pay half of his salary. That would leave them enough room to match the Knicks' reported offer for Sessions. Bowen could also be traded to the Celtics, or just sign with the Celtics after getting released. Either way, it appears Bowen is holding up both Sessions' and Nate Robinson's situations. |

Tinsley to the knicks Knicks team president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni met with free agent PG Jamaal Tinsley Wednesday.
No offer was made and no money was discussed. It's likely the Knicks would only be willing to do a one-year deal with Tinsley to save their precious money for the summer of 2010. The Knicks are still rumored to be in the mix for Ramon Sessions, so this might not play out anytime soon. But for what it's worth, the Brooklyn-born Tinsley wants to sign with the Knicks. |
