JR Smith out of Jail Nuggets guard J.R. Smith was released from a New Jersey jail on July 24 after serving time for causing an auto accident that killed his best friend in 2007.
He ended up getting out about six days earlier than expected and will now wait to see if the league will take further disciplinary action against him. If it happens, the penalty should be minimal, meaning he still looks like a great sleeper pick for fantasy owners this season.
