If the Broncos Offense is playing like crap against NE, what the hell, put him the second half.

Agree with Dr. Nuggs, if the Broncos go into halftime against NE having not scored a touchdown with Plummer playing as he has been, I think it may be time for the Gunslinger! Or, suffer through NE and get Cutler prepared for Baltimore with the bye week.

P.S. I think the book has been written on how to beat Jake. After 10 yrs in the NFL he isn't going to learn how to throw from the pocket.

i've defended jake to the core (against BME8799 much of the time) saying "Give him a chance...a time will come when we can say he's done". Well, 1-1 with two of the worst offensive performances ever (including the Griese era) it's time. Especially when there's someone better waiting on deck. Broncos are staring a .500 season in the face. At least get "the future" some experience. Jake is done. I hope he's padded his saving account.

Alright I'm chimin in here with one more thought on the other side of the bill. I am not necessarily a huge Jake fan but here's my main reason for keeping him a few weeks rather than giving up now: the AFC West is weak. Yep that's right I said it- one of the toughest divisions in football is weak in 06. The Raiders are Arizona-esque, the Chiefs will struggle without their leader, and Philip Rivers has yet to be tested. The Broncos could win the AFC West no problem. Jake has been consistent in the past, if Shanahan shows him a little more trust in the playbook, then the Broncos could rebound and play consistent football as they have the past 5 years.

Don't you think that the problems reach deeper than Jake? The running game looked abysmal- despite the fact that Jake didn't execute on certain plays it kind of looks like Shanahan's playbook needs a little refresh- same stuff, different year - more game tape that teams are preparing from.

While i'll agree there are some problems other than the QB such as the OL's age, Rod Smith's age and loss of step, I believe the majority of it stems with Jake. The playbook is a direct reflection of Shanny's confidence in Jake. You are limited in regards to play calling when you don't trust your QB to roll, throw, or do anything else you'd want a typical QB to do.
