He's said to be in awesome shape, but nothing will tell until he pitches against real hitters.
His arm won't be fatigued from a season of pitching, which I think will help greatly. Hopefully he can pitch like the Pedro we know from his years in Boston and get back to his A-Game!

castillo is a great backup, and we got him dirt cheap.
but gotay is hitting like crazy and his defense isnt THAT bad.

commenting on my own thread...i have to say the braves have landed the best player. but they gave up A LOT to get him.
granted. he might make a great immediate impact on the team, which is not good news for me, as i am a mets fan.
texiera was easily one of the best bats in the american league, and will greatly help out a braves team hovering near .500
also, texas gets a great catcher / 1B in Salty...something they can build on for the future.
