Saturday June 13, 2009 - Come out to the Wilmette, IL Borders location for a chance to join broadcaster/writer George Castle at his Book Signing Event for his latest literary contribution: Sweet Lou and the Cubs: A Year Inside the Dugout. Buzz Bissinger, author of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and THREE NIGHTS IN AUGUST: "I have read all of George Castle's books, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of those rare individuals who is both an extremely gifted reporter and writer. I have also seen George work the Cubs' clubhouse, and it is clear that he has a rapport with team personnel that no other reporter in Chicago can touch. They trust him and they respect him, which means Sweet Lou and the Cubs has inside information you won't find anywhere else." The Borders is in the Edens Plaza shopping center, on Lake Ave. just east of the Edens. 3232 Lake Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091 So, come on out to Wilmette this Saturday to talk Cubs with George Castle. The event is timed to be right after the Noon Cubs game, so you can cheer our beloved Cubbies on to victory then come out to pick the brain of one of the most knowledgeable Cubs minds on the planet. If you cannot make it out to Wilmette this Saturday, you can meet George also at the Barnes & Noble in Lincolnshire at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 20.
Diamond Gems- Join George Castle as we stay up to date on all the current happenings in Chicago baseball while still offering a nostalgic look back into the heroes of baseball’s past and the stories that shaped the game we all love today.
