Yeah, I definatly think so. I mean you have Russel and Quinn there too, but this guy is a beast. He will make any quarterback's stats go up. He is said to be faster then Randy Moss, and stronger then TO. Put those two together, and you got a pretty good wide receiver. Plus he is tall, so he can jump up and get a overthrown ball. I would love to see him go to the Raiders. He would make walters look like Brett Favre. Not only could you throw him the deep ball, but he is fast enough to do a couple of reverses, and possibly punt and kick returning. I remember when they put Moss as a punt returner. He was amazing. Calvin Johnson should be the number one pick in any draft to come. I think Adrian Peterson could give him a run for the money, if he was healthy, but he's not. So you gotta go with this guy. I know the Raiders want to draft a quarterback, but you can't pass this guy up. They will be kicking themselves for many years to come if they don't get this guy.

Johnson should be the #1 draft pick, this guy is a corner stone player. The Raiders have a huge need at QB, but I hope the Raiders won't be the Houston Texans of last year. Johnson has the physical tools, hands, the whole package. If the Raiders do not pick Johnson at #1, Al Davis should resign right away as he blew his chance to sign a class act to help revitalize the franchise. We can only hope, and wait .

this is not a question..he is the only player in the draft in my opinion right now, who can step in and make an impact on any team and be an all pro...6'5" 4.4 forty...he is a plaxico burress with sinorice moss speed..all you can say is wow

Everyone loves a QB...and it is tough to win in this league without a QB (Unless you are the Bears) But a WR with this kind of size, speed and overall ability comes along once every blue moon...andespecially one that doesnt have that ME ME ME additude that every other WR has in this league. Rare talent indeed...anyone passing on him would be making a huge mistake.

As far as all out talent and potential, he is probably the best player in the draft and worthy of being the No.#1 overall. That being said, I don't think that he should be picked number one overall for the simple fact that the Raiders don't need him. Plus the number one pick isn't necessarily the best player overall anyway (see Mario Williams, 2006). Could the Raiders use Johnson? Of course, but who'll get him the ball? And can you say, "Randy Moss, mentor"? Didin't think so. I agree with what has been said so far especially with the fact that Johnson is a freak of nature and almost too good to pass up. Still, this isn't your father's Raiders guys and Johnson would not be going to a great situation---you got to see that, at least.

Should All-American wide receiver Calvin Johnson, probably the best overall athlete in the draft, be the # 1 pick? The answer, history tells us, is a unanimous NO! Only twice since the draft began in 1936 have wr's been the number one pick. Those players, Irving Fryar in 1984 and Keyshawn Johnson in 1996, had (and, in Keyshawn's case, are still having) fairly soild careers in the National Football League. But wide receivers are far to numerous in talent and availability to be drafted first overall. Especially this year, as the Raiders have massive problems along the offensive line and no reliable quarterback. In the NFL these days, great wr's are popping up in the late rounds nearly every year. Look at last year's draft, for example, and Marques Colston (drafted in the final, 7th round). He put up amazing numbers until he was injured and played like an all-pro when healthy. Other notable Pro Bowl wide receivers drafted outside the first round in past years' include Donald Driver (7th round), Steve Smith (3rd round), and Chad Johnson (2nd round). The Lions tried drafting top-caliber wide receivers early in the draft three years in a row, and they have been mired in mediocrity (if not atrocity) ever since. At number 1, you need to pick a leader, a real difference-maker, particularly somebody that will be a great fit for the offense. If it was my choice, and I was drafting for the Raiders, I'd trade down, get more picks (because they need a LOT of help) and then draft Brady Quinn. If they want to keep the pick, they should take the 6'6, 263 pound monster-posing-as-a-QB, LSU's JaMarcus Russell. Russell is definitely a work in progress; he has been shown to make poor decisions and throw into double-coverage, costing the Tigers at least 2 games this year. But he dismantled Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, displaying his "laser-rocket-arm" for all to see. Calvin Johnson may run a 4.3 40 yard dash, but Russell can throw the football 80 yards in the air, and 40 yards while laying down! The Raiders have always been in love with the home-run, vertical passing game. As it stands, he would be a great QB to get the ball flying to Randy Moss and speedy Ronald Curry, who shows big-play potential when he's healthy. Drafting a WR with the first pick has shown to be only a mistake, as the last two players to go number 1 overall never displayed the amazing potential in the pros as they did in college. Raiders, you should trade that pick and get more help overall. But, if Al Davis and the boys decide to keep it, big J-Rus from the Bayou is the man to take at numero uno.

Is CJ worth the number 1? Yes, but not in this draft. The Raiders simply cannot afford to take a WR at #1. In this mock draft(http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AnfWnYK9jjMBegmuSGnXgVhDubYF?slug=jm-mockdraft040407&pro v=yhoo&type=lgns),Russell goes first to the Raiders. However, if it's a big target they want for Russell to throw to, it's Dwayne Jarrett of USC who is predicted to be the Raiders's second round pick. In the case that the Raiders cannot trade down at all, I would have to agree with this mock draft. What are your thoughts on the mock?

Calvin, in my opinion, is the most talented kid in the draft. The guy is an absolute go getta, but i dont think the raiders will take him. The raiders are desperate for someone to lead them on offense and personally i think russel is the guy to do it. wouldnt count on calvin goin first, i would say more like 3rd or 4th because i dont see the lions pickin another reciever in the draft..
