Eddie "Fast" Chambers VS. Alexander Povetkin In the final IBF eliminator
After the victory of Eddie Chambers (30-0, 16 KOs) on Friday night over Calvin Brock (31-2, 23 KOs) in the IBF tournament to name the number-one contender for IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko, the 25-year-old American will face Alexander Povetkin (14-0, 11 KOs) in a final eliminator. Last week, the 2004 Olympic Games gold medalist Povetkin stopped former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd (40-4-1, 21 KOs) in the eleventh round.

I'll take the less experienced Povetkin over Chambers. Both guys have fought a who's who of nobodies but who is there other than Wladimir Klitschko. Both have good boxing skills, all though Povetkin seems to be the heavier puncher. He's also coming off of olympic gold and has seemed to hit his stride in only 14 bouts. He was'nt frustrated by Chris Byrds' elusiveness, like most of Byrds' opponents and he still had enough in the tank to get him out of there in round 11. Either way it will be interesting to see who will be ranked the #1 contender...

The Heavies division is a real joke these days. How about Calzaghe taking Kessler for a 12 round ride?

It was good fight. I enjoyed watching Calzaghe take Kessler to school

No doubt Chambers has skills, but he has to be much busier. He said he would be against Brock. Now he says he will be against Povetkin. Show me, don't tell me.

Good point, probably the key to a Chambers victory. If he is'nt busier Povetkin may out work him and just steal the fight...
