The Seattle
Seahawks have played their best football. The
Redskins are red hot winning their final four regular season games. The
Seahawks had a good year with 10 wins although they were in the weakest division in football, the NFC West.
Redskins QB Todd Collins will have to face the loud Seattle crowd but he has experience. Collins had error free games in wins over the
Giants and
Vikings on the road. He has played smart football when it has meant the most.
Meanwhile back in Seattle, the
Seahawks have continued their traditional late season song and dance. Despite strong performances throughout the year they coast into the playoffs as the NFC West champs. Year after year the
Seahawks seem to rest and then fizzle as soon as they are clear of the lackluster
49ers,
Rams and
Cardinals. This year they won't have an easy wild card game to get them back in the swing of the playoffs.
The
Seahawks face a team that is 4th against the run and 16th against the pass for 2007. Furthermore the Skins only allowed 184 yards passing against Eli and the
Giants along with only 220 passing yards against the
Vikings.
If the Skins defense can get to Hasselbeck and mix things up in the secondary it could be a long day for the SeaBirds. Seattle's weak running game was 20th in the NFL in 2007 and will provide for no sustained offensive momentum. Look for Seattle's defense to grow tired of being on the field and for Portis and the Skins to punch them in the mouth in the second half.
