good for him those are some great stats...but that wont keep up with an ego like shaq on your team for very long. he is gonna want tthe ball.

Player of the week? OOHHH!! What a huge step up for Amare...LOL
2/11/2008 7:02 PM ET
Ha. Genius is using sarcasm to cut out his anger. I think Genius is afraid now. And Shaq even said himself, "Now, i consider myself a role player" He understands that he isn't the player he used to be and is willing to accept what the team needs from him and not go overboard. So KG91 i think Amare will be just fine.
2/11/2008 7:51 PM ET
It just shows how much Amare and Marion didn't get along which was the biggest reason for the trade.
2/11/2008 8:29 PM ET
buy Amare a post game and you have a chance..Without pick and roll, just like nash, he is useless..he cant defend, he cant rebound, just a dunker..move over Harold Miner...LOL
2/11/2008 8:33 PM ET
Cant Rebound? He Rebounds just fine. 13 rpg since Marion left, he just didnt rebound cuz he didnt need to with Marion helping. And have you seen his jumpshot? He can hit it from 18-20
feetout. Pretty good for "Just a dunker". He also said, he works on somethin every year, last year, his shot, now, defense. He'll get there, he's still young. After that, then a post game can come.
2/11/2008 9:02 PM ET
And 2.5 bpg is pretty good for someone who "cant defend". He may not have the 1 on 1 defense yet, but this year, he's really been a presence in the lane. 4 blocks the other night against the Wiz.

I seriously believe that their are more players in the NBA other than the
Lakers that deserve some credit.
2/11/2008 11:33 PM ET
I agree kgreene..My
hornets are also doing well this season..They have owned phoeniv this season..It seems amare always shrinks when he plays other big men(Bynum, Chandler) Tell him to grow a pair..
2/12/2008 12:06 AM ET
you don't think Amare is a good player?
2/12/2008 12:16 AM ET
2/12/2008 11:19 AM ET
Shaq may say "Now I'm a role player"...but...what does his ego say?
2/12/2008 11:33 AM ET
alot of this has to do with the fact that Amare is actually a powerforward. He is very undersized at the center position so of course he is going to have trouble against guys who are much bigger than he is for an entire game. He's only 6'10'' and 249. Thats a pretty small center. Now that they have Shaq and an interchangable Skinner, Amare will be able to gaurd other powerfowards. They'll be able to mix it up defensively.
2/12/2008 2:13 PM ET
Without Paul, the
hornets wouldnt be nearly as good..Can u say that about chauncey?Nope..detroit still would be in the playoffs..And Tyson isnt that mush bigger than amare..Actually he is of slighter build..Amare always gets owned..
2/12/2008 3:23 PM ET
Chandler has 3 inches on Amare, and is much longer, Tyson has really long arms, which is hard to play against.
2/12/2008 5:06 PM ET
23.1 ppg and 9.4 rpg are impressive stats for someone who gets owned everynight....
2/12/2008 8:33 PM ET
Whats his stats against chandler and Bynum? Barely reaches double figures...
2/12/2008 11:39 PM ET
Thats because you have a large centers posting up on a foward.
2/13/2008 11:18 AM ET
Also Chandler gets most of his points of of wide open lobs in transition from Paul, or from the defense not rotating correctly. He is just a defensive asset.
2/13/2008 11:20 AM ET
Doesent seem to hurt tim duncan much...or KG...Only amare..Soft as pudding..
2/13/2008 11:53 AM ET
well I didn't say Amare was one of the top 5 power fowards of all time did I?
2/13/2008 1:32 PM ET
We will just have to wait and see Amare dominate David West now that Chandler will have his hands full with Shaq.
2/13/2008 2:51 PM ET
My bad PHX MaN MARIO...Everybosy else did...Talking like Amare was the future or something...He is a dunker...And he isnt even that when he plays players his size...Loser...
2/13/2008 7:33 PM ET
yes cause he is a stud and goin back to pf
