The Rockets won their 19th straight on Monday night against the Nets. Two weeks after big man Yao Ming went down for the season with a fractured foot, the Rockets are still undefeated. Since Yao's departure, the Rockets have played even more as a cohesive unit led by star Tracy McGrady.

Does center Dikembe Mutumbo's defensive presence and selfless offense add a new dimension to Houston? Think about this for a second, if Dikembe makes the team better defensively and he doesn't demand the offensive touches that Yao did, does he make McGrady and cast better?

i think so he's a beast at defender they found scoring other than ming so it's sad to say but the rockets are better now that ming is injured.

This is not the first team that Mutumbo has stepped in and improved. He's known for the type of performance he is giving right now..

YES...You've got to appreciate a player who's willing to play a role no matter what it may be, big-small-offense-defense, whatever helps he team.

Obviously they would be better if he could contribute along with Yao.

Yes they are, in my opinion. Mutumbo brings so much energy with his block shots and his finger shake

Agreed, they are doing very well with Dikembe, but also, if you all remember correctly. With Yao, they were on a 10 game win streak. Who is to say they wouldnt be winning 22 straight with him? Dikembe is a great defender, no doubt, but you cant say that the Rockets are better off without their all star center. Especially considering that prior to his injury, they were on a 10 game winning streak. What has truly kept this team alive, is T Mac and the way he took over once Yao was injured.
