I agree with this but I believe if you put all the awards and MVPS and such away and just played a straight 1-1 game I think kobe has the edge over jordan.

Kobe would get lit up by jordan. Jordan was too quick for Kobe and Kobe never had somone who refused to lose in front of him. Jordan retired,cameback and in one year was at the top again. Its been 4 years and Kobe is just starting to climb the mountain. Take away Kobes 3 championships with shaq away and he would be out of the top 5 sg's of all time.

Actually Jordan was a far better defender, its Kobe who wouldn't be able to keep up with Jordan. MJ was too quick side to side for Kobe. Sure Kobe can throw up a bunch of jumpshots but he isn't gonna hit all of them. Jordan was smarter, as far as his take on the game. He knew 2 2=4. Driving to the hole more dunking=higher percentage shots. He shot at center percentages, 52%-53%. Which is exactly why Jordan shot a higher percentage than Kobe when he came back to the
Wizards. On his LAST LEGS! MJ could stop Kobe's jumpshooting, but Kobe cant stop MJ's dunking.

And kg91 its funny how you all of a sudden bring up what Kobe does against the
Suns when this has nothin to do with them. Cuz ur angry that you know ur wrong and start going off of pure opinion. And he "torched" a 40 year old Jordan who was much slower on defense then his earlier days. And Kobe's explosive scoring, is nothing to Jordans. Kobe has never faced a defender as good as the ones who defended MJ. Joe Dumars was a far better defender than any of the "Kobe Stoppers" today. Raja Bell, Bruce Bowen? Doug Christie from '04?

Well put Mario. The only thing tha Kobes better at is three pointers. Which he is really not that much better from a % standpoint. Who cares anyway cause both Jordan and Kobe suck from 3's. Jordan made them in important games so i think he gets the edge in this one too.

You guys can say all you want about how Kobes so bad, but in his 11th year in the NBA, hes the 2nd best shooting guard of all time and possibly one of the top 5 to 15 players in the history of the game at ANY position..You know what all time means? Generations and generations of people who picked up a basketball in the history of the sport..You can down him all you feel but his skills and accomplishments are only bettered by one person in the history of basketball at his position...Now try to down that FACT...And those defenders kobe faced were better than the ones MJ faced..Larry bird?jeff hornacek?Craig Ehlo? John Starks?The only one who was his height was Clyde drexler...Cmon...

I agree that Kobe is a top 5 sg ever. Maybe number 2 when its all said and done. His skills are awesome, and i only belittle him when i am comparing him to Jordan. Come on Genius,Jordan had every player in the league guard him and alot of the time 2,3,and even four guys on him,so your statement has no merit.

It has plenty of merit, because Kobe also has had 2,3,or 4 players guard him also..And that Mcgrady in the top 5 is ridiculous!!! Kobe is the ONLY SG in this era who makes that list.McGrady hasnt made a clutch shot in his entire life!! he is often injured,and he has not been on any 1st team all defensive teams..Tell me why he should even be in the top 10 at all?because hes kobes size?because he is just as athletic as kobe? all of that is true, but he doesent have the determination and the toughmindedness that Kobe posesses..he flops and cries afterwards..Top 5......LOL Im glad you came back though, I was starting to miss the beatdowns I used to issue out on you!!
