2008 US Olympic Basketball Roster Is Set; Kobe and LeBron in. Do You Agree With Who Made It?

The roster for the U.S. Men's basketball team was named today and as expected, the biggest names in the game are on it. League MVP Kobe Bryant and Lebron James top the list of a stacked roster that also consists of Jason Kidd, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. Rounding out the 12 man roster are Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Michael Redd, Deron Williams and Tayshaun Prince. One notable name missing would have to be Amare Stoudemire, as he withdrew from consideration in fear of pushing his surgically repaired knee too hard. The U.S. finished 3rd in the 2004 Athens Olympics, With this team, anything less than the gold would be a failure. Here are a few questions for you guys to answer:

1. Is there anyone not on the roster that you feel deserves to be there?

2. If you had to pick a starting lineup for this team what would it be?

3. What place will the 2008 U.S. Team Finish? If not first, then who will finish first?

Jason kIdd is starting,he did when they played together before the season started last summer...I dont like tayshaun,even though he brings a good defensive mind to the team,but his offense is very shakey.besides that,its a godd roster,but i wanted amare on the squad.SL:j,Kidd,KB24,LeBron,Carlos or Carmelo,Dwight

I like it except for JKidd and Redd. Instead I rather see one of the Celtics big 3 either Garnett or Pierce or Allen. They won the Finals and each could be a leader for the American team. Also it wold be nice to have another pure shooter on the team and not just Redd. I think that they will come in first. I think it was just a fluke that they were pretty bad in international play. Btw who's the coach? Starting lineup: Deron Williams or Chris Paul, Lebron, Kobe, Bosh, Dwight Howard. They need another big man too. Garnett would be a great fit.

Weak in the middle - weak beyond the three point line. Once again the US has selected a team that will rely on running and gunning to win the gold. Hasn't it been proven that this does not work well against the international teams? I think Ben Gordon would have been a nice addition to the team. Emekah Okefor would have looked nice in the lineup too (though I'm not positive he's American). Last name - Caron Butler.

I dont think either of those 3 would do anything big for this team...I mean,u might tkae ben gordon for tayshaun,but u already have great scorers,thats y kevin durant didnt make the team.Caron?Maybe for tayshaun also,but thats debatable.Now there is no one i would take off for Emeka.He hasnt shown anything since he came to the league.now if you're talkin about u wanna put another big man in cuz theres too many pgs,i might undestand
