now this should have the NBA worried

I DONT THINK THERE ARE ANY WORRYS. THE MAIN REASON FOR EVERY PLAYER SHOULD BE AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP NOT MORE MONEY THAN THEY ALREADY HAVE.

HE WONT DO IT EVEN IF THEY OFFER HIM LESS TO PLAY IN THE NBA HE WILL NOT TAKE IT HE WANTS MONEY AND FAME IN EUROPE REALLY ALL YOU WILL GET IS MONEY IN THE NBA LEBRON IS ALREADY THE MOST LOVED BESIDES KOBE AND PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO LIKE HIM MORE THAN KOBE.

"Should be" being the key words in your comment. Greed and "the love of money" has superceded "the love of the game." Many of today's stars measure their success with the dollar sign. With the decline of the US economy, as well as the ridiculous scandals in the NBA, people will flock to the highest bidder.

I agree bchelgren but I could also see this as a negotiation tool. Is'nt his contract in a year or two?
8/6/2008 3:24 PM ET
Mayhem, good point, this could be used as a very effective tool to get more out of his next contract. However, there is a limit to how much an NBA team can pay without significantly cutting back elsewhere.

he wouldnt do that to cleveland

imagine if redeem team loses to a European team in this Olympics that will hurt the NBA even more and David Stern has to get fired he is surrounded by scandal so it will help the NBA's image

If he did leave for the money, then that would porove every one wrong who thoguht that Lebron was the perfect kid or somethin...and also, what competiotion would he have...NONE...if hes a real competitor,he wont go there...and also, how would that affect his endorsments...

exactly as lucious said. but 50 million is aALOT of money but still it proves he has no real heart to win a championship.
8/6/2008 11:33 PM ET
Just saying that he would consider playing overseas for the right amount of money proves that money is more important to him than an NBA championship.
