San Diego will host Miami in week 5 and despite losing their first two games of the season, things have turned around for the
Chargers. In week 4, they put up 28 points off of 295 total offensive yards. There has been questions in recent weeks related to RB Ladanian Tomlinson's health. However last Sunday Tomlinson rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
The key to the
Chargers offense is balance. Philip Rivers has settled in as the driving force of this team. Despite 4 intereceptions he has averaged 256 yards passing per game and has 10 TD passes. So what does this mean for your fantasy roster?
San DIego is able to share the wealth. They can beat you by running the ball or passing the ball. Something that they couldn't do last year. Tight End Antonio Gates is arguably the best tight end in football, with 205 yards and 3 TDs on the season. But don't forget about the remainder of the skill players on this team. Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson should also be consider as starter on your fantasy roster this weekend against the
Dolphins.
Chambers has 8 catches, 196 yards and four touchdowns this season. The 30 year old has been a consistent red zone option for Rivers. Jackson has 15 catches, 246 yards and one touchdown in 2008. The wide out is 6'5" and is a huge target down the field for Rivers. The
Dolphins defense has allowed an average of 317.7 yards per game in total offense including 227.3 yards in the air and 6 passing TDs. With the majority of attention going to Tomlinson and Gates, look for Rivers to spread the ball to Jackson and Chambers this weekend.
