Clayton points out "Atlanta owner Arthur Blank likely would not let a felon convicted of dogfighting run his team." If convicted, Atlanta could "make a legal case that he failed to fulfill his contract, then claim the annual $7.5 million of signing bonus proration." Where does this leave VICK? Clayton thinks it would be difficult for GMs in the NFL to take a chance on Vick and possibly face public ridicule as well as suite holders dropping their leases. So Vick could be headed to the Arena Football League and not the CFL. Due to the Ricky Williams situation, the CFL is may not be interested to take on players who have been convicted.
