Imus in Hot Water again for alledgedly making another racist comment. This time about Pacman ....eh adam jones
NEW YORK (AP) -- Months after returning to the radio with a pledge to mend the wounds caused by his comments about a women's basketball team, Don Imus is once again defending on-air remarks regarding race.
During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?"
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."
In the face of criticism that ensued, Imus said Monday that he had been misunderstood.
"I meant that he was being picked on because he's black," Imus said in a statement released by his spokesman.
The on-air exchange came six months after Imus' return to work on a new show on WABC-AM following his firing from MSNBC and CBS Radio for making a sexist and racially charged comment about the Rutgers University women's basketball team. When he returned to work, Imus gave a lengthy on-air apology and pledged to use his new show to foster an open dialogue on race relations.
Before Imus offered his explanation Monday, civil rights leader Al Sharpton criticized the remark, saying his National Action Network would look into it.
"I find the inference of his remark disturbing because it plays into stereotypes," Sharpton said in a statement. "We will determine in the next day or so whether or not his remark warrants direct action on our part."
Sharpton was one of the chief critics who successfully pushed for Imus' firing from his televised radio show in April 2007.
WABC and Citadel Broadcasting Corp. Vice President Phil Boyce said Imus would explain his comments on his Tuesday morning show and said it was unlikely the broadcasters would take disciplinary action.
Boyce said Imus had explained himself in a private conversation Monday afternoon and the explanation was satisfactory.
"I think some people may be misunderstanding what he meant," Boyce said.
Jones' attorney did not immediately respond to an e-mail.
Rutgers University women's basketball spokeswoman Stacey Brann said there was "no need to revisit the past" and wouldn't comment further.
On Monday's show, Imus and Wolf were discussing Jones' request Saturday that people stop using his nickname. Wolf explained Jones was suspended from the NFL following a shooting at a Las Vegas nightclub, and he added that Jones had been "arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005."
Imus' next words were, "What color is he?" |

Who will go number one when it's all said and done/?????
I honestly thought that the dolphins were going to pick jake long...but recently the dolphins gm jeff ireland accidentally said that they were looking for the pillar of their defense.and looked stunned because he revealed what they were going to do with the pick...he got all red in the face and the reporters were all over him....plus we all know parcells loves defensive players....i believe it's gonna be vernon gholston from the ohio state buckeyes that gets picked number one....gholston is a beast and I think he will play outside linebacker for the phins and be dominant like shaun merriman...I hope they take him or jake long....I really think that the jake long contract offer is a smokescreen to the rams to try and trade up for him so the phins can get multiple picks |

WIll Barry Bonds ever play ball again?
He might depending on his legal issues....everyone is saying he's healthy as can be, and he would be a very good Designated hitter.....I just don't think teams want to deal with Barry Bond's and the baggage he brings with him. Will the greatest power hitter of all time ever swing a bat again?? |

Mets in the lead to get Santana.
The new trade offer from the mets is a five for one deal. The Twins would be crazy to pass on this. The Mets are offering some combination of the following five players: Carlos Gomez, Fernando Martinez, Deolis Guerra, Philip Humber and Kevin Mulvey. Carlos Gomez and Fernando Martinez are the real deal in my opinion, and probably if traded to the twins would start in two years. Mets need a number 1 pitcher, and who better to fit that then Santana. If the Twins don't jump on an offer soon, then Santana will play with them for this year, and then go into free agency. They need to move him now, and they will get decent players in return. IN your opinions if this trade goes down.....who would get the better deal? |

Memphis the new number 1.
Should they be ranked ahead of Kansas. In my personal opinion Memphis should be behind Kansas. Kansas has looked like the most complete team in the country so far, and as time goes by they most certainly should be placed at Number 1. First of all they play in the big 12 who could very well be the top ranked conference this year besides possibly the acc or the big east. Secondly Memphis is in Conferance USA, who really has no studs in their conference besides Memphis. Right now it might be the right choice for Memphis to be at number 1 because of their strength of schedule for non-conference teams, but once Kansas plays around 5 tough big twelve teams, they need to move into that slot. |

SInce Bill Parcells fired Randy Mueller(DOlphin's GM)....do you think Cam Cameron should be given one more year....or do you think he should go.
It's really hard to say....I don't honestly think Cameron should be fired....no coach could have basically his starting running back, his whole defensive line and secondary, and Zack Thomas all miss a great portion of the season, and still be winning. If you look at some of the great coaches that come to mind...alot of them started their careers with a horrible season at first....The only thing that would make sense to me would be either Billick or Cohwer...those are the only two coaches that I would rather then Cameron......Parcells is already jumping on Jeff Ireland...the cowboys current general manager...look for him to replace mueller and get thegeneral manager's job within the next month.. |

What should the Patriots do with their first round pick they're getting from the 49ers????
I haven't looked exactly where that pick is right now, but 2 weeks ago they were getting either the 2nd or the 3rd pick. Could you imagine if they get someone like McFadden?? Lawrence Maroney has durability issues, and Sammy Morris is a good 3rd down back, but McFadden would just add another dimension to this already incredible offense. What do you think they should do with this pick.....trade it for more picks or draft someone like McFadden? |

So who will the dolphins be taking with the first pick of the 08 draft????
If going by need the dolphins will take Glenn Dorsey from LSu...but by pure skill and talent...I hope they take McFadden from Arkansas.....I think he's legitimately one of the best running backs to go to the nfl in years...I felt the sameway about peterson, and look what he's doing for the vikes. McFadden is a can't miss....and if the dolphins skip on him the team likely to pick him up is the patriots since they are getting a pick from the 49ers...which is even more scary......WHo's your first pick of the draft??? |

Are my dolphins the worst team ever in the NFL????
I've seen some bad teams since watching football and I have to say that my phins are up there with them....I can just think of how bad the bengals were in the 90's and recall naming them the bungals...I know tampa bay went winless but that was before I was even born.....As bad as they are, they did have some freakish things happen to them, like.... ronnie brown go down and out for the season....trent green out for season...their whole secondary injured all year....zack thomas out for 4 games...the hits just keep coming...My question to everyone is....Are they the worst team in the history of the NFL...or have they just had bad luck |

Icky Sticky Ricky is back....Is this good for the dolphins or is this a cancer in thier locker room?????
I can honestly say that at one point I hated ricky williams...being a dolphins fan it was tough to see a great running back like that just pick up and leave 2 weeks before training camp. I understood his point, and he was very honest by saying his life wasn't just about football and I respected that. Noone can honestly say that his actions were near close to pacman or vick or tank, or any of the other serious crimes that were committed. He just is a different individual and feels that mary jane soothes him I guess. Getting back to my question....I feel that this couldn't hurt the dolphins any worse then the spot they're in now. He adds a threat to their very limited talent offensively, and plus I like the fact that he is going to be able to play monday night against the steelers because it is going to take some pressure off of john beck and his inexperience. Everybody deserves some chances in life...I just hope Ricky takes advantage of this and actually does something with it. I understand that the guy was given 3 or 4 different opportunities, but it's only marijuana, yes it's against the law and i guess on a moral stand point it's wrong, but it's completly harmless, and not hurting or degrading or threatening anyone with his actions. I say go ricky and good luck!!!! |

CHris Chambers traded to the Chargers for a 2008 2nd round pick.
Who gets the better deal out of it Miami, or San Diego????/ I feel that Chambers was the only offensive threat the dolphins had....other than ronnie brown.......My phins are making me mad......I think the chargers make out on this because they don't have any good receivers, and he could be the piece of the puzzle that the chargers are missing. The dolphins do get a 2nd round pick out of it, but all of the picks they got last year didn't really help them this year either.. |

Dusty Baker coaching In Cincy. Good Move by their part???
I've always liked Dusty baker when he was with the giants and the cubbies. I think this is a good move on the reds part, and they need a winning coach that could turn that hapless baseball team around. I"m not saying he will maike them into world series champions, but I think he will turn them into a winning franchise in a couple of years. |

Who is the most under appreciated athlete playing in any sport ?????
I would say it has to be ARod without a doubt. Look at his stats, and you will understand this. The guy is the best player in the majors year in and year out, and never gets anything but criticism. He could possibly be the greatest ball player of all time, and even though he hasn't produced in the playoffs "like he should" doesn't mean he won't. If I were arod I would definatly try to pack my bags out of the bronx and find a team and fans who will love him for what he has done not just for his team, but for all of baseball. |

What has been the biggest dissapointment thus far in the NFL??
To me it has to be the san diego chargers......How can they be playing like this???? Last week in Oakland they looked very good, but the weeks before that they just looked awful. WIth all the weapons they have, they should be undefeated or only have one loss. You could throw the Philly eagles in there too. From when the season started I had the Eagles or the cowboys going to the superbowl...while it looks like the cowboys are on that path, I still expected Philly to be alot better then they have played. |
