University of Kansas 4-0 vs Kansas State 3-1

The University of Kansas Jayhawks are coming into this weekend against the wildcats with their best start in 5 years. The Jayhawks have outscored their opponents thus far 214-20, while the wildcats have averaged 45 points in their 3 consecutive wins since their first week loss to Auburn. The little apple, manhattan, is a tough place to play and gets pretty loud and crazy on game days. I believe this one could come down to whomever has the ball last.

Vikings QB situation...Jackson? Holcomb? Bollinger?

Tarvaris Jackson, Kelly Holcomb, Brooks Bollinger…who will be the leader the Vikings so desperately need at the helm to bring them back to a playoff contender? Through 4 games the Vikes are 1-3, and if someone doesn’t step up at quarterback the Vikings may only win 5 or 6 games this season. There is no doubt that Adrian Peterson will be a top candidate for rookie of the year, but as the only weapon performing so far this season, things are not looking good in the twin cities. My question to you is, do you think Tarvaris Jackson was hyped up too much prior to the season? And if not Jackson, who should be given the reigns at qb?

San Diego Padres vs Colorado Rockies

As seen in playoff baseball in the past, great pitching always beats great hitting. Prime example is the 2004 World Series when Boston swept the Cards. The Cardinals were baseball’s hottest hitting team, but their bats were silenced to scoring only 3 runs in the last 3 games. But for the Padres to cool the red hot Rockies a couple of things have to happen. Jake Peavy performs like he has all season away from his home field, going 10-1 with a 2.16 era in 14 road starts, walks and errors have to be kept to a minimum so Colorado’s heavy hitting lineup doesn’t take advantage of those situations and Peavy has to take San Diego deep into the game. With 5 Colorado hitters over 300 and 4 over 20 homeruns, it could get interesting, but I believe San Diego will win this one with pitching and defense.
